On Campus

For those staying in our on-campus lodging, expect something a little different than what you've stayed in during previous years. You will be staying in the ERC apartments that were built about 4 years ago. The buildings are three and four story clusters of apartments with lots of outdoor spaces around them. I note this for two reasons. 1) The apartments are very nice with full kitchens and nice furniture. 2) These are small buildings with NO elevators. If you need a room that is handicap accessible, please notify us immediately. Lounges and outdoor meeting areas are abundant throughout the complex. The apartments are not air-conditioned, but the cool ocean breezes make this unnecessary. All of the rooms in ERC are wired with 100 Mb/s Ethernet jacks and are covered by 802.11g wireless access points. This wireless coverage extends over the entire ERC complex, including the open spaces and dining facility.

Off-Campus

There are many hotels in the San Diego/La Jolla area. When you make a reservation with these hotels, please remember to ask for the UCSD Rate. Most hotels are within 3 miles of UCSD and a few within walking distance. In addition to these hotels in La Jolla, special rates are available at nearby Hotels in Del Mar (7 miles north along the coast, accessible by bus). Rates apply at the Del Mar Inn, and at The Stratford Inn Del Mar. Please note that the Estancia Hotel has no more vacancies at this time.
