| Description: | They are a generation of many names: the "Millennials", the "Net Generation",
the "Trophy kids", and, very appropriately, "Generation Y Not". This is the
generation, born after the first Star Wars (1977) and numbers about 70 million
people. They are the fastest growing segment of today’s workforce and often a
big part of Information Technology teams in higher education. Managing this generation can be challenging, especially to those with traditional management styles. It just takes an open minded approach to realize that they are a highly talented group and can perform well for any IT team. With the right communication style and tools, managing workers from this group does not have to give you a headache. Learn to work with this dynamic group and it will lead to a successful and productive relationship. |
