ResNet Symposium 2009

Dual-Boot Computer Lab Implementation

Presenter(s): John Bailey
Date and Time:Saturday, June 27, 1:30pm - 3:00pm
Location: Stewart Hall 323
Description: Have you ever considered unifying your lab hardware architecture and providing your students with computers capable of running both Mac OS and Windows? This presentation will outline the recent implementation of dual-boot iMac computers in Residential Computing labs at Washington University in St. Louis. We will discuss the technical details of how the computers are designed, imaged, and deployed as well as the pros and cons of a dual-boot architecture for both Residential students and technical support staff. We also hope to have a robust Q & A discussion during the last 1/4 of the presentation.
