Sunday Afternoon Activities

Sunday afternoon will be a chance to catch your breath and relax as there are no official symposium activities scheduled for Sunday afternoon and night. While your afternoon and night are free for you to do as you please, we have arranged some of the following optional ways for you to enjoy St Cloud and Minneapolis. Those not interested in one of our arranged activities may explore other options on the area attractions page.

Tickets for the activities listed below are $25.00 US per person and may be purchased through registration.




Scenic Mississippi River Canoe Trip (Sold Out)

Spend the afternoon exploring the Mississippi River. This guided trip will take between 4-5 hours and cover 13 miles of scenic river. This section of river hosts a wide array of wildlife including deer, eagles, ospreys, turkeys and a whole host of migratory waterfowl. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather and bring a snack, sunblock, water and an extra layer of clothing. Cost includes canoe rental, guide and return transportation. Departs from SCSU at 1:00pm. Returns to campus around 7:00pm.
















Rock Climbing at Recreation Sports

The SCSU Outdoor Endeavors staff will take you through a progression of activities and instruction that will get you climbing and belaying in a structured setting. Participants should come dressed in comfortable clothing and wear athletic shoes. All equipment and instruction will be provided. More information about the Mountain Dew Xtreme Climbing Wall.




Mall of America Trip

Spend the afternoon at the famous Mall of America. Shop till you drop, people watch, catch a movie or enjoy one of the many dining options available. Depart from SCSU at 12:30pm and arrive at Mall of America by 2pm. Return trip departs from Mall of America at 8:30pm. Cost includes transportation to and from Mall by bus.

The 4.2 million square foot complex is home to more than 520 world-class shops; Nickelodeon Universe the nation's first Nick theme park; Underwater Adventures Aquarium, a 1.2 million gallon walk-through aquarium; a 14-screen movie theater and more.
