Director of Communications

Margaret Landsparger

Hello, my name is Margaret Landsparger and I am the Resnet Coordinator at Michigan Technological University. I am applying for the Director of Communications position on the Resnet Board. I have been involved in networking and IT at Michigan Tech for over 10 years. In this role I have had many experiences with group based communication, focusing on customer service. I have enjoyed participating and presenting at the Resnet Symposium for the past 5 years. I feel that it is time to give back to the organization by participating as a board member. I feel that I bring a lot of experience and ideas to the Resnet organization that will allow the group to continue to act as a network of hardworking and creative IT, housing and customer service professionals. I know we can expand and grow the organization together. Thank you for your consideration and taking the time to vote.

Director of Member and Volunteer Relations

Jim Rizzo

The ResNet organization has been an invaluable resource to myself and many others. The individuals that make up ResNet are the heart and soul of the organization. In my day-to-day activities at the Helpdesk, I work closely with my student employees, holding their ideas, thoughts, and opinions in high regard. I guide our support structure and training based on feedback I receive from my students. I also use those students to help gather information from the greater campus community to help guide departmental decisions based on the wants and needs of the student body. I have also worked with our Student Congress to gather information on what the student body would like to see. As I have worked closely with our student body, I am interested in working closely with the members of ResNet to help guide the organization in a manner that they see fit. I want to give back to an organization that has helped me in my position as Helpdesk Manager. I look forward to working as the liaison between the heart and soul of ResNet, the members, and the Board.

Carla Rounds

My name is Carla J. Rounds and I am the ResNet Operations Manager at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I first learned about the ResNet Organization and the ResNet Symposium in 2006. The knowledge and skills that I have picked up through my membership, attendance to symposiums and volunteering to the organization have been invaluable. I am a strong advocate for the ResNet Organization and its continued growth well into the future. I believe that our organization is only as strong as our membership and those who volunteer their time, skills and experience to enhance the annual ResNet Symposium, Regional Symposiums and the overall mission of the organization. Our community is made up of individuals who embrace the philosophy of open communication and the sharing of ideas to assist our fellow colleagues locally, nationally and internationally. I believe that we can use this philosophy to grow our organization by tapping into our diverse and talented membership. We can also increase our membership by reaching out to all colleges and universities who may not know that we exist. If I am elected to serve as the Director of Member and Volunteer Relations, I will work with the board to expand our membership and promote volunteer opportunities where our members can help grow our organization into a world class operation.

Vice-President

Nathan Monaghan

Since my introduction to the ResNet organization in 2003 I have found the resources presented in and around the symposium and listserv to be invaluable. Many of the advancements in processes and procedures within my department have been directly spurred by presentations and conversations with fellow members of this community. ResNet is an important organization for those of us supporting students and technology, which I have enjoyed contributing to through presenting in 2010 and by volunteering with the program committee at several symposia. I am interested in contributing more to the organization and community through the office of Vice President. With support and input from the greater ResNet community, I would like to help influence the growth and development of our organization. As ResNet moves forward I see us becoming an authority in the field of residential computing environments with an emphasis on advocacy for our members and reinforcing the free flow of innovative ideas among our membership. As Vice President, I would assist in providing support, tools, and the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions regarding the management and growth of the ResNet organization.
