Question 1

Keep. --Kguidry 16:44, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 21:54, 17 November 2007 (EST) We say 'primarily responsible' then later 'check all that apply'--is this counter intuitive or is it just late on a Sunday? This comment applies to questions 1-3.

Keep. Agree, awkward wording - guess it allows for equally shared responsibility? Change to organization(s)?? Canderer 10:39, 21 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Cpee 11:50, 30 November 2007 (EST) I think if we make the change to organization(s) we end up with all kinds of verb issues. Did we get comments back on this one? Maybe we should matrix the first 3 questions and make them one.

Question 2

Keep. --Kguidry 16:44, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 22:50, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Question 3

Keep. --Kguidry 16:44, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 22:52, 18 November 2007 (EST) Just thinking out loud here and too soon, but do we want to know if any of this in questions 1-3 changed in the past 3 years as to 'who?'

Keep. Review/udate exampes - ie, does anyone install NICs anymore? Canderer 10:42, 21 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Cpee 11:52, 30 November 2007 (EST) It is rare, but I know we still end up installing wireless cards on older laptops. Sure the new laptops all have wireless cards, but the older machines need help.

Question 4

Keep. --Kguidry 16:44, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 22:53, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Canderer 10:43, 21 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Cpee 11:54, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Question 5

Keep but reword if possible. --Kguidry 16:44, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 22:54, 18 November 2007 (EST) I was thinking reword as well-- for one should 'on your campus' be ' directly affiliated with your institution'

Keep. Canderer 10:45, 21 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Cpee 11:57, 30 November 2007 (EST) I think this question coupled with question 1 is what signals that question 1 could have multiples responses and organizations. Maybe we should reword the first question to organizations and people can choose only 1 if needed.

Question 6

Keep. --Kguidry 16:44, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 22:55, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Canderer 10:45, 21 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Cpee 11:58, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Question 7

Expand. I suspect there are other services to add here, including labs and classrooms in residence halls. --Kguidry 16:44, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Expand. Dfutey 22:58, 18 November 2007 (EST) Agree with Kevin. Also can we look at '05 data on results to refine the listed or the options?

Expand. Canderer 10:51, 21 November 2007 (EST)

Expand. --Cpee 12:00, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Question 8

Keep. --Kguidry 16:44, 15 November 2007 (EST)

General comments

We need to review the response to the previous survey to see if we need to keep "Academic computing" as a common response option. I know it's a "Stanfordism" and I do not dispute the prominence of Stanford in the historical development of ResNet programs but if it's not widespread it might cause more confusion than it prevents. --Kguidry 16:44, 15 November 2007 (EST)

This point maybe true--lets do a data check to see if this or something else falls in besides housing and Central IT. Dfutey 23:00, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Agree - or group both terms together as Central IT/Academic Computing if that's a term many others still use. It probably doesn't give much meaning to differentiate those 2. Much like "Housing" was used throughout (at UD, "Housing" and "ResLife" are 2 different depts.) We're mainly trying to figure if it's the computing or residence arm responsible for various things.
