Question 9

Keep. --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 23:09, 18 November 2007 (EST) Only comment -- lets look at the data to hone in on the scale used.

Keep. Canderer 15:49, 20 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Vpolichar 17:22, 22 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Cpee 13:35, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Question 10

Keep. --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 23:10, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Canderer 15:50, 20 November 2007 (EST)

eXpand. --Vpolichar 17:22, 22 November 2007 (EST) I recommend we add some options here: I'm thinking Administrative Computing, Telecom/Datacom/Network Support, Res Life/Dean's Office, and change "Central IT" to "Other central IT" and put it just before "outside entity."

Keep --Cpee 13:41, 30 November 2007 (EST) I think we may need to look at the options that we use in general based upon the past survey responses.

Question 11

Keep. --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 23:10, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Canderer 15:51, 20 November 2007 (EST)

Remove. --Vpolichar 17:24, 22 November 2007 (EST) I think this question is redundant with 12 and 13; as long as 12 and 13 have the option of '0', it's covered. I hate to make people answer anything unnecessarily. Even better, we could just say "skip to question X if no students are employed in support of the campus residential network" and have 12, 13 etc. default to zero.

Remove. --Cpee 13:44, 30 November 2007 (EST) Good point above.

Question 12

Keep. --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. but.. Dfutey 23:11, 18 November 2007 (EST) I had to read this a couple time to understand it.

Keep. Agree, should check wording. Canderer 15:52, 20 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Cpee 13:45, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Question 13

Keep. --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 23:12, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Canderer 15:53, 20 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Vpolichar 17:28, 22 November 2007 (EST) How about:

How many students have some responsibility for residential network support, but are not employed solely to support the residential computer network? (For example, general help desk staff who also support students; do not include RCCs or ResNet Technicians.) Do not count extra students hired temporarily for start-of-semester rush.

Keep. --Cpee 13:45, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Question 14

Keep. --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 23:13, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Canderer 15:53, 20 November 2007 (EST)

eXpand. --Vpolichar 17:28, 22 November 2007 (EST) I'd suggest same updates as I offered for question 10.

Keep. --Cpee 13:45, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Question 15

Keep. --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Cpee 13:46, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Question 16

Keep. --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 23:15, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Canderer 15:56, 20 November 2007 (EST)

eXpand. --Vpolichar 17:31, 22 November 2007 (EST) I'd just suggest clarifying "academic credit" because that sounds like you get actual units for it... many students are required to log work units for work-study financial aid; others get discounts on their fees and/or tuition. It might be nice to add these options. BTW, some students work to work off parking tickets at some campuses. Not sure that last has a big impact, though, so it's probably not worth adding.

Keep. --Cpee 13:47, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Question 17

Keep. --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 23:16, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Vpolichar 17:31, 22 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. --Cpee 13:47, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Question 18

Discuss. Do the results from last time justify keeping this question? How many respondents were asked this question (I believe it was conditional based on the response to the previous question)? --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Discuss or Remove. In line with the Stanford AC, I think this and 20 are framed because we are aware of cross town collaborations that take place. I think it would be better asked if do you receive or share staffing resources with another institution.

Discuss or Remove. I lean towards remove (probably few fall into this). Canderer 15:59, 20 November 2007 (EST)

Remove. --Vpolichar 17:32, 22 November 2007 (EST) I just don't think this is all that interesting anymore.

Remove. --Cpee 13:48, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Question 19

Keep. --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Dfutey 23:20, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Keep. Canderer 16:00, 20 November 2007 (EST)

Keep.... --Vpolichar 17:33, 22 November 2007 (EST) I guess. Though I'm not sure whether this happens often enough that it is interesting?

Question 20

Discuss. Do the results from last time justify keeping this question? How many respondents were asked this question (I believe it was conditional based on the response to the previous question)? --Kguidry 17:08, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Discuss. See 18. Dfutey 23:21, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Discuss. Ditto 18. Canderer 16:01, 20 November 2007 (EST)

Remove. --Vpolichar 17:32, 22 November 2007 (EST) I just don't think this is all that interesting anymore.

Remove. --Cpee 13:54, 30 November 2007 (EST)

General comments

Questions like 15 and other of similar setup we need to think about. '05 was the baseline survey to see what is out there. This survey should refine those types of questions some what--or we make it easier for the user while retaining data points.

Agree with this comment. I also assume we'll be looking at all responses and edit as needed once we agree on the questions. (I didn't specifically note response changes at this point.) Also look at possibly rewording to combine some of these questions for easier answering - like 17 and 19? Canderer 16:05, 20 November 2007 (EST)
